December 21, 2016 – Cannabis Sativa (OTCQB:CBDS) announced today that it has been awarded Patent PP27,475 for a Cannabis plant named “Ecuadorian Sativa” which it says has been shown in lab testing by Steephill Labs to have a Limonene level that is extraordinarily high at a level of 4.53, 10 to 20 times the usual range. The company said this makes the strain unique in its odor, the effects on mood and mentation and its medical qualities.

The Company said that high levels of limonene have the potential to slow down plaque build-up in the arteries and reduce the effect of low-density lipo-proteins on the circulatory system.

Some of the most focused research on limonene and its effect on cancer has been published out of the University of Arizona, with research indicating that limonene has demonstrated efficacy in preclinical models of breast and colon cancers.
